2010 Seminars on "Good Practices in Gender, Ecology, and Disaster Risk Reduction Management"

Two seminars on "Good Practices in Gender, Ecology, and Disaster Risk Reduction Management" were held on May 31 - June 2 at the Heritage Hotel and June 14-16, 2010 at Crown Regency Hotel in Cebu City. A total of 817 delegates, mostly from LGUs in different regions, participated in these two workshops. Participants came from 71 provinces, 158 municipalities and 28 cities represented in these seminars.

 

The seminars led to the formulation of action plans and other updates on gender, ecology and disaster risk reduction management. The activites included lectures, updates from guest speakers, interactive sessions, open fora and sharing of practices.

 

The roster of speakers included USec Graciano P. Yumul Jr. of the Department of Science and Technology; Emmeline L. Versoza, Executive Director of the Philippine Commission on Womenl Bernadette Aquino, Chairperson of CDRC, Lucy S. Lazo, a UNIFEM Consultant; Danny Villas, CENRO of Makati City and Councilor Nestor Archival of Cebu City.
